The Artist Tree will open the first licensed cannabis dispensary and consumption lounge in Hawthorne, California. This location will be the 9th retail venue in The Artist Tree chain. Known for being an art gallery that happens to sell cannabis, The Artist Tree highlights the natural synergy between creativity and the plant, seamlessly combining rotating displays of local art with high end retail shopping.
The Hawthorne location is just 4 miles from Los Angeles International Airport and borders many South Bay communities with no legal cannabis dispensaries or lounges. Given the proximity to LAX, the South Bay, and Los Angeles’s trendy cannabis scene, The Artist Tree is excited to offer residents and tourists the unique opportunity to shop and consume some of the Golden State’s best cannabis products.
The expansive 5,000 square foot space will contain custom free standing art displays, featuring the work of local artists, a seamless open floor plan, industrial detailing, custom cabinetry, hardwood floors, and museum-style inlaid glass displays throughout the interior. The first installation will showcase the works of local artists Tyler Barnett, Ron Braverman, Christopher Wray McCann and Mr. James. The exterior of the building is decorated with an original mural by local artist, Dylan Keene, that reflects the creative power of cannabis.
The Hawthorne location includes a comfy consumption lounge area where visitors can relax and consume any of The Artist Tree’s hundreds of cannabis products alongside an assortment of high end smoking devices. The lounge will also feature an assortment of locally inspired cannabis infused cocktails, such as the Mile High Club and the South Bay Mai Tai, together with an upcoming calendar of performances and educational events.
The Artist Tree venues go above and beyond just selling cannabis in hopes of serving the surrounding community through charitable events, education, and perhaps most importantly, by fostering creativity. Created by founders Lauren Fontein, Aviv Halimi, Avi Kahan, and Mitchell Kahan, The Artist Tree retail locations include West Hollywood, Koreatown (Los Angeles), Beverly Hills, Oxnard, Riverside, Fresno, Laguna Woods and El Sobrante. The Artist Tree’s Hawthorne location is one of the few public cannabis consumption lounges in the country together with The Artist Tree’s first consumption lounge, The Studio Lounge, in the heart of West Hollywood.

The soft opening of The Artist’s Tree Hawthorne location is slated for Thursday, August 15th. The Artist Tree will hold an official ribbon cutting ceremony with Hawthorne city council members and city officials on Tuesday, August 20th. The Artist Tree will host a grand opening party to greet the community and celebrate creativity and cannabis on Saturday, August 31st.
