ayrloom,a Beak & Skiff brand, today announced the addition of cannabis-infused sparkling waters to its lineup of products. The beverages are now available for purchase at Housing Works Cannabis Co for $20 for a pack of four. Just as ayrloom’s line of gummies and vape pens were first-to-market at New York’s first licensed adult-use cannabis dispensary, the brand’s cannabis-infused sparkling water is the very first tested and legally approved cannabis beverage available in New York State.
“As one of New York’s premier apple growers and producers of cider, hard cider, spirits, and wine, Beak & Skiff has a reputation for creating premium beverages that utilize high-quality ingredients. That approach continues as we diversify our business with cannabis, through the extension of ayrloom,” said Eddie Brennan, CEO of ayrloom and president of Beak & Skiff. “We are proud of our cannabis products and excited to provide consumers with the state’s first cannabis-infused beverage. We cannot thank Housing Works enough for their commitment to carrying New York-owned and operated brands in the New York’s first legal adult-use dispensary.”
The sparkling waters, which contain 5mg of THC and 5mg of CBD per 12oz. can, are available in black cherry, pink grapefruit, and pineapple mango flavors. Later this year, the brand will also release ayrloom UP, a higher-dose version of the beverages, which will include the same flavors in 16oz. cans with 10mg of THC per serving.
ayrloom cans feature an innovative, industry-first package, that is fully approved by New York State and has the potential to change the standards for cannabis beverages. Most states require child resistant, single-use, snap-on plastic caps or zipper-like XO lids for cannabis beverages. This approach produces a massive amount of plastic waste and makes the cans non-recyclable. ayrloom’s cannabis beverages are packaged in fully recyclable aluminum cans with stay-tab tops that are not only inherently child resistant but are also already the standard for alcoholic beverages. ayrloom submitted the package for testing and obtained an official Certificate of Conformity for Child Resistant Packaging, allowing the company to move forward with the more sustainable can top.
To prepare for the highly anticipated cannabis beverage market in New York, ayrloom built the largest cannabis beverage canning facility on the East Coast. The building is over 20,000 square feet (about four times the area of a basketball court) and can run up to 250 cans per minute. It has the capacity to run 25,000,000 units per year or 1,000,000 24pk cases per year. The facility will be used to can ayrloom cannabis-infused beverages and to white-label beverages for other cannabis brands.
“We are confident that cannabis beverages are going to be a fruitful, high demand sector here in New York, and we wanted to leverage our beverage production expertise to make high quality, delicious cannabis beverages in a small, family-owned business environment to set the standard for cannabis-infused drinks in the state,” said Mack Hueber, president of ayrloom and CFO at Beak & Skiff. “We are passionate about creating great-tasting, sustainable, and effective cannabis products. These sparkling waters are the perfect addition to our line of THC products. The cannabis industry is moving in a very accessible and progressive direction, and we truly believe beverages will trailblaze that path.”
