As the wellness community flocks to the benefits of hemp-derived CBD, Elevate Hemp continues a first-of-its-kind exclusive partnership with Spartan—the world’s largest obstacle race and endurance brand to provide athletes with a safe, natural and non-addictive alternative to prescription painkillers. The partnership provides education about CBD’s recovery and relief benefits to Spartan’s seven million plus race participants plus its digital community.
“I’ve been using Elevate® Pain Relief Cream religiously, before every run, and I can honestly say it’s the reason I can run farther and longer without the symptoms associated with hip pain,” said Spartan Race Pro Team Athlete Brittney McGuire.
“Athletes are early adopters. Whether you are an ultramarathoner or a powder hound, you want to find recovery relief without the unnecessary risks and complications associated with pharmaceutical products such as opioids,” said Justin Finck, Vice President of Business Development, Elevate Hemp. “Elevate Hemp recognizes the value of partnering with Spartan for the CBD industry’s first-ever major wellness program.”
For nearly a century, prohibition of CBD removed an essential nutrient from the human diet. But over the past two decades there has been an acceleration in research due to the therapeutic benefits discovered in the cannabis plant, with subjects reporting that CBD offered relief from symptoms without the potential for addiction, overdose, increased tolerance or withdrawal found in some pain remedies such as opioids. In fact, recent studies have found that CBD may help break the addiction to opioids.
For those unaware, Spartan are known for their events focus on sport and athleticism, pushing the bodies and minds of competitors to the limit across miles of unforgiving terrain while conquering signature obstacles. The brand focuses on nutrition, balancing exercise and diet so athletes can reach new heights and attain new levels of health and fitness. Elevate Hemp will provide education about CBD at upcoming Spartan events including San Antonio Super and Sprint Weekend (March 23-24); Spartan Stadion – Citi Field, New York City (April 13); Tri-state New Jersey Ultra and Beast Weekend, Vernon, NJ (April 27-28); Spartan Stadion, Nationals Park, Washington DC(May 5); Boston Sprint Weekend (May 11-12); Austin Super and Sprint Weekend (May 19-20); Chicago Super and Sprint Weekend (June 1-2); and Spartan Stadion – AT&T Stadium, Arlington, TX (June 15-16).
