California has and will always be America’s cannabis state and with the announcement of recreational usage passing into state law, there’s a expected influx of curious minds that want to get into the business or educate themselves on the learning’s of cannabis and how it relates to them.
The California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA), California’s leading cannabis industry association, and the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), the only national trade association representing the legal marijuana industry, announce the launch of a new business-to-business event – California Cannabis Business Conference, taking place at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA, September 21-22, 2017.
As California prepares to launch the world’s largest adult-use cannabis market, the two-day California Cannabis Business Conference will prepare new and existing cannabis professionals for operations under the Adult Use of Marijuana Act (AUMA), which goes into effect in January 2018. A first-of-its-kind, the conference is the only industry association trade show focusing exclusively on the detailed and nuanced regulations, logistics, methods, and operations tactics required of licensed cannabis businesses to successfully own and operate a company within California’s robust, competitive cannabis market – a market that will undoubtedly expand greatly in the new year.
CCIA and NCIA announce Lori Ajax, the first-ever appointed Chief of the Bureau of Cannabis Control in California (informally known as the “Cannabis Czar”) as the keynote speaker for the associations’.
Ajax was appointed as Bureau Chief in Feb 2016 to oversee the implementation and administration of California’s seed-to-sale regulations on medical cannabis. Prior to her appointment, Chief Ajax served as Chief Deputy Director at the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, after spending 22 years working her way up the ranks and 10 years in private industry prior to joining state government.
Chief Ajax’s leadership overseeing the state regulatory regime for California’s booming legal cannabis market makes her one of the industry’s most highly anticipated speakers of the year, ahead of California’s transition into the adult-use legal framework. Speaking recently at NCIA’s 4th annual Cannabis Business Summit® & Expo, Chief Ajax addressed a standing-room only crowd of entrepreneurs.
As keynote speaker, she is expected to discuss her outlook on the future of California’s cannabis market, in addition to providing her insights on what business owners can expect as they prepare for success in 2018. Chief Ajax will deliver her keynote address on September 21, 2017 at 10:45 AM at the conference.
